HTC Flyer available April 24th for pre-order at Best Buy for $499

Have you ever thought to yourself: “Self, I want a giant phone/tablet hybrid that uses a 7-inch capacitive touch screen in conjunction with a stylus…and I want it now!” Well, you’re in luck! Best Buy has just announced that the HTC Flyer will go up for pre-order on April 24th in the US. The tablet comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600) display, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm chip, and a version of the company’s Sense UI specially tweaked for tablets. The Flyer will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but HTC is promising an upgrade to 3.0 Honeycomb. Although those lucky Europeans have been able to order the 3G unit for a while now, those of us in the US will be stuck with the WiFi-only version for now.
