Microsoft calling Mango update Windows Phone 7.5, maybe

During MIX11, WPCentral got a nice look at one of the slides that just happened to call the new “Mango” update that was being demoed, “Windows Phone OS 7.5”. This is particularly interesting because when Microsoft rebranded their mobile OS, they told everyone that they were going to try to get away from numbering their OS releases. During the demo at MIX11, though, Microsoft stated that the OS 7.5 was just a mistake and they were sticking with “Mango”; and after the article was published on WPCentral, Brandon Watson claimed (via Twitter that “no version number has officially been announced.”
From looking at the build number that is out now, the OS seems to be at v7.1, which makes sense, since Mango is not expected for another 6 months.
